Frequently Asked Questions
What are the legal window tint limits in Ontario? Under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, the front windshield must allow at least 70% of light through. Front side windows must also allow at least 70% of light through. Rear side windows and the rear window can have any darkness of tint.
Do you offer mobile window tinting service? Yes! Car Tint provides professional mobile window tinting across the Greater Toronto Area. Our certified technicians can come directly to your home or office indoor garage so you do not have to disrupt your busy schedule.
How long does a car window tint installation take? A standard car window tint installation takes 2 to 4 hours depending on the vehicle type and the number of windows being tinted.
Can I roll my windows down right after getting them tinted? We strongly recommend waiting at least 3 to 5 days before rolling your windows down. This gives the tint film proper time to cure and adhere fully to the glass without peeling or bubbling.
Do you tint home and office windows too? Absolutely. We provide professional window tinting for privacy, UV protection, and heat reduction for residential and commercial properties.
What is the difference between standard and ceramic window tint? Standard (dyed) tint is great for privacy, glare reduction, and aesthetics. Ceramic tint, however, uses advanced nano particles to block up to 99% of harmful UV rays and significantly reject solar heat. If your goal is keeping the interior of your car or home as cool as possible, ceramic is the ultimate choice.
How do I clean my tinted windows? Wait at least a week after installation before cleaning the inside of your windows. When you do, always use a soft, clean microfiber cloth and an ammonia free glass cleaner. Products containing ammonia (like standard Windex) can break down and ruin the tint over time.
Can I get my windows tinted in the winter? Yes! We tint windows all year. The installation process is exactly the same. The only difference is that the curing process (when the trapped moisture evaporates from behind the film) may take a few days longer in cold weather.
I see a slight haze or tiny water bubbles right after installation, is this normal? Yes, this is completely normal! Window tint is installed using a specialized water solution. What you are seeing is the leftover moisture trapped between the glass and the film. As the tint cures and dries over the next few days, this haziness and the water pockets will completely disappear.
Will window tinting affect my rear defroster or radio antenna? No, professional window tinting will not damage or interfere with your rear window defroster lines or built in glass antennas. We use high quality, non metallic films that do not disrupt radio, GPS, or cellular signals.
